Welcome to Helen's 'Learn to Drive'. Your inner Brisbane West, local, independent and reliable female driving instructor, specialising in helping students of all ages succeed on their driving journey. At Helen's, I understand that every driver is different and getting behind the wheel can be daunting. I strive to make learning to drive as relaxing and as fun as possible, whilst equipping my students with the skills necessary to be safe drivers and to pass their test first time. At Helen's, it really is all about you.
Many thanks for visiting the website we really do appreciate you taking the time to visit. If you are looking for lessons for the first time, you may be surprised to learn driving schools may be booked out weeks in advance, especially in busy times like school and university holidays.
In order to fully service new and existing students, lesson spots for new students are released before 9am on the 1st of the Month for that month.
We do not offer PACKAGES as each student is unique and therefore no size sits all, once we have had the initial lesson subsequent lesson can then be organised if needed. We Teach on each lesson it's never just a drive or a chat at the side of the road, students come away with lots of information and skills to practice at home. If you're looking for an instructor JUST to boost your hours then maybe we are not the right school for you, there are many schools who offer this service. We ONLY offer 90 minute or 120 minute lessons as we have found this to be the optimum lesson time for student learning.
Minimum lessons, Maximum learning, LESS expense
All NEW students must book online so that all relevant information can be captured, this allows existing students to continue to secure follow up lessons.
We Now offer MANUAL lessons, Auto to Manual conversion and Test preparation. All complete beginners (less than 20 hrs) will start in the Auto car to gain Road skills before progressing to Manual.
Servicing Brisbane's Inner West
Areas Covered: St Lucia, Indooroopilly, Taringa, Toowong, Bardon, Auchenflower, Milton, Paddington, Rosalie, Graceville, Chelmer, Corinda, Sherwood, Kenmore (roundabout), Chapel Hill and Fig Tree Pocket.
*** If you live outside the above areas, please specify on the booking where within the serviced area you would like to meet. We are happy to meet at the Toowong/ Sherwood test centres, Schools, UQ, Indro Westfield or Train stations within the area by pre arrangement. If your school is outside the serviced area we may still be able to start or finish there, please just request this in the booking.
We specialise in the test areas of Toowong and Sherwood. If you are close to finishing your hours (over 70 hours and have had your licence for around 10 Months or more ) then please text directly so we can organise your test and your pre test lessons as most test centres have a 6 -10 week lead time. Priority is given to Test day packages and Test preparation.
If you have already booked your test please text directly with booking details so we can try and fit you in.
ALL new students are require to undertake a minimum of one or two lesson before test day to evaluate your driving.
To maintain our reputation, teaching standard and first time pass rate, we DO NOT hire cars just for a test and we don't conduct lessons in private cars.

Delivering Exceptional Service to Students
Helen's Learn to Drive was established in 2021 and I have over 30 years of driving experience across the globe. I take pride in my ability to be able to break down the learning process and to make any driver feel comfortable, confident and safe behind the wheel. I don't sell packages as no size fits all and I NEVER oversell lessons, you will only have the lessons you need or want. My aim is to get you as safe and as confident as possible in the LEAST number of lessons. Each lesson is planned just for you, we don't just randomly drive round or sit in the car drawing pictures for half the lesson! ! My first time pass rate is usually above 90%
